An off-grid solar energy system is a system that is not connected to the utility grid, you are entirely reliant on the sun and energy stored in batteries to power your home or business.
With an off-grid system, what you produce is what you store and later can use.
Being off-grid means you are not connected in any way to your grid’s power system or utility company. This is appealing because you are 100% self-sustaining your energy use.
One of the main disadvantages of the off-grid systems is that it requires you to purchase a backup battery which can be expensive and bulky.
