Service Overview
Having an on-grid system means that you as the consumer are tied to your local utility electrical grid. This is the system that most residential homes use because if the solar system under or overproduces with your varying energy needs. This means that if your system overproduces you can send the access electricity into the grid, and if your system produces less than needed you can use the electricity from the grid to cover your needs. In the on-grid systems, the grid acts in the same function as a battery, where you store your access electricity to be able t use it later when needed. This process is called net metering. Being grid-tied is beneficial because you don’t have to buy an expensive battery backup system to store any excess energy.
